Padstow needs a skatepark! News and updates

July 2011. SITA Cornwall Trust confirms £30,000 grant towards Padstow Skatepark!

SITA Cornwall Trust draws its funds from a pool of money donated by whoever has the contract to process the Duchy’s waste. The Trust donated the same sum to Truro skate park and fund manager Wendy Reading said they were “very happy” to be helping with Padstow. She explained: “Padstow Skate Park applied and we’re very happy to be helping them with the project." “We liked the project because the youngsters drove it: they had the idea, they were involved from the start, and we think they’ll look after it because of that."

Thankyou very much SITA Cornwall Trust!

In December 2010 we wrote to local businesses asking for support. Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant donated £1,000 which was then matched by Sport England. TJ International donated £500.

In December 2010 we had it confirmed that Padstow Town Council has been able to contribute £32,000 to the fund. Bringing the total to £60,000! This means that we are well on the way to getting the skatepark that we all want, but we still need lots of help.
